Laboratory

After fitting and measurements have taken place and you have made the right choice of lenses for you your lenses will either be taken from our stock or special ordered. Most single vision lenses we can make on the same day in our in-store glazing lab. For higher prescriptions, varifocals and bifocals we have to order the lenses from our partner laboratory in the UK. Some of the lenses we order can be delivered in-store within a couple of days, whilst the more complicated lenses can take around 2 weeks to arrive. Our bespoke range of rimless glasses from Midas Rimless Eyewear in the UK can take up to 3 weeks. Once everything is complete we will advise you of an approximate collection date. 

Approx 95% of all the lenses we supply are glazed on the premises in Brian’s Lab. We are able to do this because we have invested heavily in the latest technology so that we can speed up the service direct to our clients and this also allows us to keep our own quality checks in place. Please be advised though, lens breakages can and do occasionally occur and when this happens, the whole process of lens ordering has to start again. If this does happen to you we will endeavour to keep you informed and in the picture. Regardless, you should always give us a call if you have even the slightest concern regarding any aspect of your glasses.

Through our partner lab in the UK, we have access to all the major lens manufacturers and because we order direct from the UK we are able to keep our costs lower than all our competitors on the Algarve. Brands include Varilux, Zeiss, Kodak, and Nikon. We only use the best.
